French Onion Dip! A favorite old standby! You probably remember it well from parties and New Year’s celebrations. The reason why it’s remained a beloved “go-to” standard is because it’s so delicious! And the good news is you can still indulge in it on the keto diet. With a delectable combination of browned onions, dried onion pieces, fresh garlic and dried parsley, this may become your favorite all over again. It’s particularly refreshing with a rainbow of raw vegetables.
1/2 onion, diced
2 Tablespoons avocado oil, to cook onions with
1/2 cup avocado oil mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon dried or fresh garlic pieces
1 Tablespoon dried onion pieces
1 Tablespoon dried parsley
Salt and pepper, to taste
1. Heat the avocado oil in a hot frying pan. (We’re so glad that avocado oil is fine at hot temperatures!)
2. Add pieces of diced onion to the pan and fry the until they are tantalizingly brown.
3. Transfer to a plate and allow them to cool for about 5 minutes.
4. Combine the mayonnaise, garlic, dried onion, dried parsley, and browned onions. Salt and pepper to taste.
Enjoy to your heart’s content.
